24.03.2004 Els atemptats de l'11-M i els dies successius fins a les eleccions van marcar una fita en l'ús d'Internet a Espanya. Milions de ciutadans van apostar pels diaris digitals per informar-se dels atemptats, mentre que la consulta de premsa internacional on line per contrastar els fets va potenciar la dimensió global de la informació. Internet va afavorir també l'acció solidària a través d'espais de suport a les víctimes o banners de rebuig al terrorisme, entre altres. La convicció que es podia contrarrestrar la informació oficial amb l'acció ciutadana va marcar definitivament la relació entre política-tecnologia-ciutadania: la capacitat per convocar manifestacions, reenviar versions informatives o llançar consignes a través d'Internet va superar les previsions.

21.03.2004 A UN Task Force has found alternatives to centralised grid power and wired telecommunications, which can have a major impact on the quality of life for rural people in developing countries. The Task Force held a two-day meeting in Ghana, which began with a roundtable discussion with the Ada local community to seek practical solutions to the challenges faced by rural communities around the world.
