26.04.2004 Young and better educated male farmers have benefited the most from ICT initiatives in the agriculture sector in three Indian states, a study has revealed. These projects, aimed at improving rural and agricultural information services, were initiated in Andhra Pradesh, Mandya Pradesh and Maharshtra.

22.04.2004 Women journalists were recognized for their competence and excellence in coverage of gender related issues at a ceremony for the 2000 Gender in Journalism Awards. Ten women journliasts were given the awards instituted by the Pakistan Press Foundation with support from UNESCO.

07.04.2004 Els resultats oficials de l'última Cimera Mundial de la Societat de la Informació (desembre 2003) van ser escassos. Malgrat això, la directora d'APC, Anriette Esterhuysen, opina que des de la perspectiva de les organitzacions socials, la CMSI va ser una èxit de participació pública que va generar una xarxa de contactes per continuar treballant en la reducció de la divisió digital. Segons Esterhuysen, només apropiant-nos de la tecnologia crearem un món més just i igualitari.

07.04.2004 Los resultados oficiales de la última Cumbre Mundial de la Sociedad de la Información (diciembre 2003) fueron escasos. Pese a ello la directora de APC, Anriette Esterhuysen, opina que desde la perspectiva de las organizaciones sociales, la CMSI fue un hito de participación pública que generó una red de contactos para seguir trabajando en la reducción de la brecha digital. Según Esterhuysen, sólo apropiándonos de la tecnología podremos crear un mundo más justo e igualitario.

07.04.2004 The Secretary-General of the International Telecommunication Union, Yoshio Utsumi, launched a global fundraising campaign to support activities for the Tunis phase of the World Summit on the Information Society. He called on all stakeholders to help make the WSIS-2005 Fundraising Campaign and the Summit in Tunis a success.
