25.06.2004 China is the worst violator of Internet freedom, says a report by Reporters Sans Frontieres, which also finds that Internet journalists in South Asia are vulnerable to frequent attacks because they lack the legal protection traditional media enjoys.

11.06.2004 Il Consiglio dei ministri dell'Unione Europea ha ribaltato il rifiuto del Parlamento europeo ai brevetti software in Europa. Nella riunione del 17 e 18 maggio scorso, il Consiglio europeo dei ministri sulle Competitività, a Bruxelles, ha rigettato gli emendamenti che il Parlamento europeo aveva apportato all'originale direttiva. Questa avrebbe introdotto in Europa una legislazione sui brevetti software simile a quella in vigore negli Stati Uniti e in Giappone, sulla quale la Federal Trade Commission Statunitense ha già espresso critiche e riserve.
