Web radio broadcasters across the US hold a protest against plans to hike royalty payments for music played online. The protest was organised by the SaveNetRadio Coalition against proposed increases of 300%.

To support interactions between the prisoners and their
families, the Department of Correctional Services (DCS) of Jamaica and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) will inaugurate community radio in the penitentiary center in collaboration with the Canadian Agency of International Development (CIDA).

UN secretary general Ban Ki-Moon has said that a lot of the problems that Darfur faces can be solved by supporting new technologies that will drive economic development. He admitted that socio-political situations are the root cause of the crisis in Darfur.
