24.11.2003 The United Nations Development Programme, the Afghanistan Ministry of Communication, and the French government have launched a pilot programme to set up nine telekiosks in Afghanistan capital Kabul. The kiosks will help city’s people, particularly teachers and children, government employees and health workers, to access information and make links to government ministries and fellow citizens.

24.11.2003 A new information and communications centre was recently opened in Armenian capital Yerevan as part of the country’s efforts to boost access to the Internet and e-governance. The centre, which has 38 workstations and can accommodate 600 users a day, will promote ICT through research and training programmes, and public discussions, and will serve as a hub for Freenet public access sites being established in many regions.

23.11.2003 Secondary schools in Zambia recently came together in an informal meeting to exchange share their difficult experiences in using the computers and other information and communication tools.
