The Multilateral Investment Fund (MIF) has approved a US$10mn grant to support an information and communication technology (ICT) program for e-business and small and medium-sized enterprise development in Latin America, MIF parent organization, the Inter-American Development Bank, said in a statement.

The Andhra Pradesh speaker has launched a rural e-governance initiative, Softrack.net, which allows the monitoring of rural issues and flow of funds. The Speaker mooted a proposal to introduce e-Petitions wherein the people in rural areas could directly send their grievances to the authorities using this software. This software has been developed by a city-based enterprise solutions developer, Vortex Technologies Ltd.
