For five decades, the college has produced big names galore in the medical fraternity, built up a reputation for medical practice and achieved much more to add muscle and meaning to the glitter of the golden jubilee year celebrations.

The Centre for Good Governance (CGG) in Andhra Pradesh has been selected by the United Nation Development Programme (UNDP) and the Union government for implementing the Capacity Building for Access to Information project.The project cost is about Rs 7 crore.

The NDA Government enacted The Freedom of Information A ct in 2002. It was adopted in January 2003 but never went into force. The recent Right to Information Act was approved by the Parliament and signed by the President in June 2005 and went into effect in October 2005.

The proposal to set up 24 new IT companies with a potential to create an additional 20,000 jobs, at a cost of Rs. 1,000 crores, may have brought Mysore to the threshold of a boom in the IT sector, but the cascading effect of an influx of employees and their families on the fragile infrastructure of the city has already raised concerns.
