India will soon have its first most advanced mobile breast cancer detection unit, thanks to London-based NRI Paul Chawla and his friends British first lady Cherie Blair, Sarah Kennedy (wife of Liberal Democratic chief Charles Kennedy), British MPs Simon Hughes and John Prescott and former minister Baroness Amos.

It was a regulation satellite launch, but one that signals a great leap for Indian TV broadcasting. Insat 4-A, India's heaviest and most powerful communication satellite, was launched into orbit from the European spaceport of Kourou in French Guiana on Thursday.

India's laggardness in the international bandwidth segment will act as an impediment to the Indian Government's vision of connecting the last mile. India has only three international bandwidth operators while countries like US and South Korea have 32 and 14 international bandwidth operators respectively.
