31.10.2007 The Asian Development Bank’s urban development programme in Indian state of Rajasthan will improve the living conditions of 1.6 million urbanites. Better quality of drinking water, public health, sewerage, drainage and solid waste management systems are expected from the project.

E’ fondamentale affermare e concretamente riconoscere la centralità delle risorse umane, in ogni ambito operativo" - afferma la nota dell'Associazione che raggruppa 163 organizzazioni non governative italiane.

Stati Generali della Solidarietà e della Cooperazione
26.10.2007 Gli Stati Generali della Solidarietà e della Cooperazione Internazionale lanciano per la fine di ottobre una mobilitazione straordinaria per sollecitare la massima attenzione dell'opinione pubblica sulla delicata fase della cooperazione internazionale: la riforma della legge 49, l'attuale normativa vigente in materia di cooperazione, e la Legge finanziaria 2008. Il 30 ottobre gli Stati Generali promuovono un presidio davanti al Parlamento italiano e il 2 novembre si terrà a Roma l'assemblea plenaria degli Stati Generali, mentre il 3 novembre è previsto il Forum della Cooperazione promosso dal Ministero degli Esteri. In questa occasione saranno consegnate ai rappresentanti del Governo italiano le firme dell'appello pubblicato sul sito degli Stati Generali.

25.10.2007 A Food for Work initiative by the World Food Programme (WFP) has helped rebuild more than 1,300 kms of rural roads and almost 9,000 kms of bridle paths in quake-affected North Pakistan. Rural roads and pathways connecting the mountainous terrain were destroyed by the 2005 earthquake, cutting people off from relief supplies and medical aid.
