The surface of the Ladakh is covered with a thin gray layer of democratic fabric. Ladakh being a part of India is also having a democratic form of government at the local level (Ladakh Autonomous Hill development Council Leh and Kargil respectively). In order for Ladakh to achieve its full economic, social and political potential, all of its citizens must have an equal opportunity to participate in the democratic process.

Una rete permanente di collegamento delle relazioni tra donne africane ed europee, di interscambio e promozione, con reciprocità e pari dignità . E' questa la proposta emergente dal convegno internazionale “L’Africa in piedi con volto di donna”, organizzato da Chiama l’Africa e Cipsi dal 23 al 25 aprile ad Ancona. Le numerose donne africane intervenute auspicano infatti che questa esperienza continui tra donne africane e anche con le donne europee. Guido Barbera, presidente del CIPSI, ha affrontato il tema della Cooperazione internazionale italiana protestando perché i fondi istituzionali del Ministero degli Esteri sono azzerati: "ma la questione è qualitativa" - ha sottolineato - avanzando la proposta di "smettere come Ong di fare progetti per l’Africa" e di "mettere a disposizione le risorse che saranno gestite dalla società civile africana, in dialogo e confronto". E ha lanciato la pratica di partenariato paritario con la società civile africana per progetti culturali e politici e per affrontare le ingiustizie.

Nakon kontroverzi i višemjesečne stanke u radu Ureda pravobraniteljice za djecu zbog nemogućnosti Hrvatskog sabora da se usuglasi oko osobe koja će obnašati ovu dužnost, krajem prošlog mjeseca na taj je položaj konačno izabrana Mila Jelavić. Međutim već je prošli tjedan njena izjava o posvajanju djece kod istospolnih parova izazvala prigovore i protest udruga.

Savez zenskih organizacija u Makedoniji (SOZM) održao je radionicu u okviru medijskog projekta Žene to mogu. Na radionici je zaključeno da mediji igraju odlučujuću i ključnu ulogu u kreiranju javnog mnjenja i informisanju na polju jednakosti polova, ali da je pre svega neophodno da se poveća senzitivnost za rodna pitanja u medijima.

Jagori, a non-government organisation, in New Delhi, India, is attempting to "light" the way to safety for women. Having launched a "Safe Delhi Campaign" to try and reduce the rising crime against women in December last, it is now planning to tie-up with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the Delhi Government to provide better lighting on the streets of the Capital.
