Alaa Seif Al-Islam, një bloger i kalitur dhe kolegë nga APC-ja, është një nga katër personat që mbajnë ditar online të cilët mbahen nën arrest për kritikat e dhëna ndaj regjimit aktual, që nga 7 maji. Për më shumë, APC ka dëgjuar raporte shqetësuese mbi veprimet e dhunshme të ndërmarra nga ana e sigurimit të shtetit kundër blogerëve të cilit liruar nga arresti javën e kaluar, vetëm që të arrestohen sërish më pastaj. Autoritetet kanë parandaluar avokatët e të drejtave të njeriut nga vizitat e blogerëve të cilët kanë qenë të rrahur dhe të torturuar të enjten, më 25 maj.

Alaa Seif Al-Islam, iskusni blogger i suradnik APC-a je jedan od četiri egipatska bloggera koji se od 7. maja nalaze u pritvoru zbog kritiziranja vladajućeg režima. Uz to, APC je dobio uznemirujuće informacije o nasilju koje su izvršile snage državne sigurnosti protiv većeg broja bloggera koji su pušteni iz pritvora prošlog tjedna i koji će biti ponovno uhapšeni. Vlasti su onemogućile odvjetnicima za ljudska prava da posjete bloggere koji su pretučeni i mučeni u četvrtat 25. maja.

12.06.2006 APC condemns the unjust detention of free speech bloggers and journalists in Egypt. Alaa Seif Al-Islam, a seasoned blogger and APC colleague, is one of four Egyptian online diarists being held in detention for criticising the current regime since May 7. In addition, APC has heard disturbing reports about violent actions taken by state security against several of the bloggers who were released from custody last week, only to be subsequently re-arrested. Authorities prevented human rights lawyers from visiting the bloggers who had been beaten and tortured on Thursday May 25.

05.06.2006 Police have shut down 87 FM radio stations which were operating illegally from religious seminaries and mosques in various districts of the NWFP, officials said on May 22. Law-enforcement officials said they had shut down the radio stations after conducting joint raids with representatives of the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) on seminaries and mosques.
