Sadržaj predloga izmena sporan je, pre svega, jer predviđa uvođenje evidencije javnih glasila na način koji otvara mogućnost za zloupotrebu od strane vlasti i ugrožavanje slobode medija

19.02.2005 Con l'istitituzione del "Giorno del ricordo", in memoria delle vittime delle foibe e dell'esodo giuliano dalmata, in Italia - dopo anni di colpevole rimozione - sembra farsi strada l'affermazione di un'altrettanto fuorviante memoria selettiva sulle vicende del confine orientale. L'Osservatorio sui Balcani dedica un'ampio dossier alla questione delle foibe e alla "Giornata della memoria", nonché alle reazioni nei balcani in seguito alla fiction televisiva italiana "Il cuore nel pozzo". Nonostante non ci siano state reazioni ufficiali dei governi, sui quotidiani sloveni e croati si aperto infatti un ampio dibattito sulla questione di cui il dossier fa il punto. Tra gli altri un intervento del noto scrittore di Mostar, Predrag Matvejevic, e un'intervista a Alberto Negrin, regista de "Il cuore nel pozzo" che replica alle accuse rivoltegli.

18.02.2005 L'associazione umanitaria internazionale Medici Senza Frontiere ha presentato a Roma il primo rapporto dell'Osservatorio Crisi Dimenticate: un'iniziativa in collaborazione con l'Osservatorio di Pavia e Orao-News e con il sostegno della facoltà di Scienze della Comunicazione dell'Università La Sapienza. Lo studio ha analizzato dal punto di vista qualitativo e quantitativo lo spazio che i media italiani hanno dedicato alle emergenze umanitarie nel secondo semestre del 2004. Sotto la lente sono finiti i principali quotidiani e periodici e le principali edizioni (pranzo/sera) dei TG nazionali di Rai, Mediaset e La 7.

11.02.2005 Crna Gora bjezi od lustracije, sto potvrdjuje cinjenica da su mnogi novinari koji su nekada bili ratni izvjestaci sada na istaknutim funkcijama, ocijenjeno je danas iz Crnogorskog helsinskog komiteta (CHK). Komentarisuci informaciju da nekadasnji novinar Radio-televizije Crne Gore Dragoljub Pavicevic, sada predaje na Evropskom ekonomskom fakultetu u Londonu o globalnim medijima i komunikacijama, predsjednik CHK Slobodan Franovic rekao je da to pokazuje da drustvo nije pocelo lustraciju.

10.02.2005 Parte a Roma la sessione italiana del Tribunale Mondiale sull’Iraq che verterà sul ruolo dei media nell’informare e nel disinformare l’opinione pubblica di tutto il mondo sulla guerra in Iraq. Un’idea che è stata rilanciata dai vari movimenti contrari alla guerra, presenti in diverse parti del mondo. Un pannello di esperti ascolterà le deposizioni di testimoni iracheni, di giornalisti indipendenti e osservatori dei media e di analisti esperti di strategie governative tese a manipolare la comunicazione mediatica. Intanto in Italia sta avanzando la riforma dei codici penali militari che dopo essere stata approvata dal Senato arriverà alla Camera il 21 febbraio prossimo. Le pressioni attraverso la richiesta di audizioni e le adesioni all’appello vedono il coinvolgimento dei sindacati dei militari e della Federazione nazionale della stampa.
