Journalists and editors from several Pristina and Belgrade media gathered yesterday at the Belgrade-Pristina Media Dialogue meeting, organized in Belgrade under the auspices of the Civil Dialogue. The participants in the event estimated that the media from Kosovo and Serbia should cooperate and exchange information.

Četiri godine posle oktobarskih promena, Srbija je započela tranziciju u demokratsku trinu ekonomiju, ali je medijski sektor i dalje jedan od najgorih u regionu kad je u pitanju pravna regulativa, navodi se u istraivanju koje je sproveo IREX ProMedia Beograd.

Journalists in Pakistan have reportedly filed dozens of access to information requests in the past six months as a result of workshops on press freedom organised by the Pakistan Press Foundation (PPF). Since December 2004, PPF has held workshops in seven communities throughout the country to train journalists on press freedom monitoring and free expression advocacy.

La quarta edizione nazionale dello "Sciopero dei Telespettatori" (24-26 giugno) non ha sottratto i due milioni di telespettatori che si era prefissato, ma "ha stimolato e rafforzato il dibattito sulla fruizione televisiva, e in particolare sulla necessitą di usufruire di alternative culturali e pił socializzanti" - notano le organizzazioni. Uno sciopero contro lutilizzo sconsiderato della tv, senza scendere nel merito dei palinsesti ed eludendo quelleffetto cassa di risonanza che impenna gli indici di ascolto. Uniniziativa atipica e di forte impatto, non schierata politicamente e capace di coinvolgere sia il mondo della cultura e delle istituzioni che i privati cittadini.

One community member criticized the films for "deriding everything from President George W. Bush to the eating of meat." Preoccupazioni sono state espresse dal Consorzio Italiano di Solidarietą rispetto allennesimo rimpatrio forzato di 45 cittadini stranieri dal centro di permanenza temporanea (Cpt) di Lampedusa verso la Libia. Amnesty International ha rinnovato ad Alitalia la richiesta di sospendere ogni collaborazione nelle deportazioni di cittadini stranieri in assenza di garanzie sul rispetto dei loro diritti fondamentali. Intanto continua lo sciopero della fame da 17 giorni e della sete da due di Stefano Mencherini, giornalista indipendente e regista Rai che sta chiedendo la cessazione della censura sul film "Mare Nostrum" sulle violazioni dei diritti umani dei migranti.Ad oggi la censura č stata sdoganata grazie alla trasmissione del video su internet con Arcoiris Tv ma lobiettivo č quello di trovare un distributore o di passare in Rai. Il regista Rai ha presentato un esposto alla Procura della Repubblica di Lecce dove ha chiesto di indagare sulla nascita della Casa Pastor Bonus di Lecce, di proprietą della Curia leccese e sulla Fondazione Regina pacis, il cui ex direttore don Cesare Lodeserto č stato condannato in primo grado a otto mesi di reclusione.
