Since the establishment of democracy in 2000, the media reforms in Serbia have been both slow and inconsistent. In order to expedite the approximation to requirements presented by the future EU membership, Serbia needs to give up on its arbitrary media policies and legislation and commit itself to implementation of adopted regulation.

Od uspostavljanja demokratije 2000. godine, medijske reforme u Srbiji su spore i nedosledne. Da bi ubrzala prilagođavanje zahtevima budućeg članstva u Evropskoj uniji, Srbija mora da se odrekne proizvoljne medijske politike i zakonodavstva i obaveže na primenu usvojenih propisa.

Media personnel, rights activists and professionals joined a rally organised by the Federation of Nepalese Journalists (FNJ) on the occasion of the 51st anniversary of the establishment of FNJ.

Nel Guatemala le radio comunitarie giocano un ruolo essenziale in quanto diffondono informazioni alle comunitą autoctone delle zone rurali. E in un rapporto presentato oggi a Cittą del Guatemala, Amnesty International ha chiesto alle autoritą del paese centroamericano di fermare le espulsioni ai danni delle comunitą rurali fino a quando le attuali leggi e prassi, che sono ritenute fondamentalmente inique, non verranno riesaminate.

Many believe that the recent mass rallies across the United States in support of immigrants' rights led a Senate committee to promote an immigration reform bill Monday that--in sharp contrast to a House bill passed in December--would put migrant workers on a path to citizenship. Krajem prolog tjedna je urednik religijskog programa Hrvatske televizije pater Tonči Trstenjak otkazao suradnju Dubravki Naumovski koja je radila kao simultana prevoditeljica televizijskih prijenosa nedjeljnih misa za osobe otećena sluha. Kao obrazloenje, spomenuti je urednik naveo činjenicu da se Naumovski razvodi od supruga, te da stoga nije prikladno da bude u prijenosima religijskog programa. Pritom je kao poseban problem naveo kako su za razvod saznali gledatelji i alili se da ne mogu pratiti prijenos dok im ga prevodi ena koja se razvodi.
