29.09.2006 Organizata e Mediave të Evropës Juglindore (SEEMO), një rrjet botuesish, ekzekutiv të mediave dhe gazetarëve udhëheqës nga Evropa Juglindore, në një letër drejtuar Kryetarit të Kuvendit të Kosovës, Kolë Berisha, ka shprehur brengën e saj mbi sulmin ndaj gazetarit të së përditshmes kosovare "Lajm", Enis Veliu dhe ka kërkuar nga ai që të kryhen hulumtime në lidhje me këtë rast.

13.09.2006 Stalno vijeće za autorsko pravo i srodna prava pri UN-ovoj Međunarodnoj organizaciji za intelektualno vlasništvo (WIPO) raspravlja o prijedlog Sporazuma o radiodifuzijskim emisijama i radiodifuzijskim organizacijama - tzv. Broadcasting Treaty, kojim bi pored postojećih prava u autorskom djelu bilo stvoreno novo pravo nad svim kopijama emitiranog/prenesenog djela u trajanju od 50 godina po emitiranju za medijske i telekomunikacije organizacije koje prenose djelo - kao sto su radio-televizijske kuce i ISP-eve. To bi se praktično onemogućilo slobodnu razmjenu djela čak i ako je autori dopuštaju pomoću licenci kao što su Creative Commons ili GNU GPL.
