Canada's first minority government in 25 years will have to act on environmental and sustainable development priorities if it hopes to build bridges with the NDP and Bloc Quebecois. To start, that could mean less lip service and more action on Canada's Kyoto Protocol obligations.

Si le gouvernement libéral entend faire mieux, comme le promettait le premier ministre Paul Martin, il devra agir rapidement pour éviter une grave perturbation des services publics fédéraux. L’Alliance de la Fonction publique du Canada (AFPC) demande au nouveau gouvernement d’intervenir rapidement pour empêcher la grève générale des travailleurs et travailleuses du secteur public fédéral, grève qui se dessine pour la fin de l’été.

Aristide « ne sait que détruire », a déclaré Latortue au moment de la passation d'autorité, ce 25 juin à Port-au-Prince, entre la Force Multinationale Intérimaire (MIF) et la Mission des Nations Unies pour la Stabilisation en Haïti (MINUSTAH).

"New Brunswick citizens are experiencing trade treaty 'chill' first-hand." So say the authors of a study released just as the Lord government rejected legislative committee recommendations to adopt public auto insurance. Today's study concludes that New Brunswick should have adopted the public system - despite threats from the foreign insurance industry to sue under international trade treaties.

Le Québec aura donc résisté. Alors que les deux grands réseaux de télévision francophones prédisaient autour de 22h un gouvernement libéral — minoritaire, précisait Bernard Derome —, les Québécois ont donné 54 sièges au Bloc québécois, lui accordant 50 % des suffrages. Le Bloc rejoint ainsi les 54 sièges obtenus sous Lucien Bouchard en 1993, exploit qui n’avait pas été réédité depuis.

Après 20 jours de détention, Gustave Kalenga Kabanda, éditeur-directeur de "La Flamme du Congo", hebdomadaire paraissant à Kinshasa, a été libéré, le 26 juin 2004 en début de soirée, sur décision du parquet général près le tribunal de Grande Instance de Kinshasa/Gombe. Le journaliste a payé une caution de 20 000 francs congolais (environ 53 $US).

Prema podacima Republicke izborne komisije iz Srbije bez Kosova, nakon sto je obradjeno 98,5 odsto birackog tela, Tomislav Nikolic pobedio je u 81, a Boris Tadic u 80 opstina. Nisu obradjeni podaci iz 19 opstina na Kosovu, dok se u 10 kosovskih opstina nije glasalo.
