Medijska organizacija jugoistočne Evrope (SEEMO), mreža urednika, medijskih funkcionera i vodećih novinara iz jugoistočne Evrope sa sjedištem u Beču je užasnuta zatvorskom kaznom na koju je osuđen novinar iz Kumanova, Makedonija. SEEMO je uputio oštro javno pismo najvišim institucijama vlasti u Makedoniji kojim se osuđuje ovakva kazna.

Vinod Raina, a member of the Central Advisory Board for Education, and activist of the Bharat Gyan Vigyan Samiti, Madhya Pradesh, said that if the government had kept its very first promise in the CMP of allocating 6 per cent of the GDP for education, then no one would have murmured a word of protest over its proposed reservation for OBCs.

The MJAFT Movement started the “Live Green” campaign. One of its activities is a caravan that will travel in 10 Albanian cities from 15 to 25 May, organizing discussion forums, between the public and the local and central authorities, and will also take some cleaning initiatives, to give the good example and to raise awareness.

The Vienna-based South East Europe Media Organisation (SEEMO), a network of editors, media executives and leading journalists from South East Europe and an affiliate of the International Press Institute (IPI), is outraged by a prison sentence handed to a journalist in Kumanovo, Republic of Macedonia – FYROM. SEEMO sent a strong public letter condemning the sentence to the highest offices of power in the Republic of Macedonia.

U srijedu 17. 5. Središnji je državni ured za e-Hrvatsku povodom Svjetskog dana informacijskog društva predstavio rezultate Studije dostupnosti javnih usluga na internetu u prošloj godini. Prema toj je studiji do kraja prošle godine građanima putem interneta bilo dostupno oko 38% javnih usluga, a poslovnim subjektima oko 29%. Ovo predstavlja vrlo veliko povećanje u odnosu na prethodnu 2004. kada je tim putem građanima bilo dostupno tek oko 4%, a poslovnom sektoru oko 6% javnih usluga.
