141 of the 200 public administration bodies (70.5 percent) that received requests for information from Transparency International Croatia on September 4, presented their responses, 125 of them within the legal 15-day deadline.

Od ukupno 200 tijela javne vlasti kojima je iz Transparency Internationala Hrvatska (TIH) 4. 9. poslan upit stigao je ukupno 141 odgovor, odnosno 70,5 posto, od čega 125 (62,5) u zakonskom roku od 15 dana. To je najbolji odaziv od rujna 2004. godine, kada je TIH počeo slati upite tijelima javne vlasti kako bi ustanovio provode li Zakon o pravu na pristup informacijama. U 2004. godini je na upite odgovorilo 49,57 posto institucija, a u 2005. godini 57,5 posto.

Međunarodni dan prava na pristup informacijama – "Građani imaju pravo znati", 28. 9, od 2002. godine obilježava se širom svijeta, kako bi se podigla svijest građana o pravu na pristup informacijama. Budući da građani Hrvatske nisu sustavno, ni u dovoljnoj mjeri informirani o ovom pravu, GONG, u sklopu projekta "Good Governance", započinje kampanju informiranja javnosti koja se sastoji od dvotjedne medijske kampanje na onim TV i radio postajama koje su pristale besplatno emitirati spot koji je u tu svrhu izrađen, ali i od "Građanskih sati", tribina i radio emisija na istu temu.

Demokratizimi i pushtetit lokal është një hap më tepër drejt Bashkimit Evropian. Për këtë arsye, qytetarët duhet të njihen më tepër me të drejtat e tyre. U mbyll projekti: "Një qytetar i informuar, është një qytetar i lirë". Ai u shtri në qytetet Peshkopi, Strugë, Gostivar. Ky projekt u financua nga Bashkimi Evropian përmes programit CARDS 2003 për zhvillimin e shoqërisë civile.

A “serious problem” is looming in Sri Lanka’s northern Jaffna peninsula where escalating violence between the separatist Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam and Government forces has cut food supplies and driven 60,000 people, nearly half of them children, into displaced persons camps, United Nations agencies have warned.

Reacting to the Kerala High Court's decision to set aside the ban imposed on production and sale of Coca- Cola and Pepsi in the state of Kerala, Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) said that it was very unfortunate. "The government has still not notified the safety norms and without these, the drinks remain as unsafe as before," said Sunita Narain, director, CSE.
