But women in this central Asian country still have many obstacles to overcome to reach equality with men, according to some local activists and international observers.

La Banca Mondiale ha infatti pubblicato e poi ritirato un documento sulla richiesta da parte dei Paesi in via di sviluppo di designare una lista di prodotti fondamentali per la loro autosufficienza alimentare da tutelare. “Il riconoscimento di questi prodotti speciali - sostiene Sergio Marelli, direttore generale Focsiv - aiuterebbe i Paesi più poveri a difendersi dal dumping che danneggia le già fragili economie locali".
