While people blame government for this crisis, experts attribute it to both local and global factors. The country would need over half-a-million tonnes of wheat to be imported to meet the current demand.

Kehidupan korban pelanggaran HAM pun sangat memprihatinkan. Mereka pun rata-rata bekerja sebagai buruh. Saat ini masih banyak anak-anak dari korban pelanggaran HAM yang putus sekolah karena penghasilan orangtuanya sebagai buruh tidak mencukupi. Karena itu, anak-anak mereka berhak atas pendidikan yang layak, kesehatan, tempat tinggal yang layak, yang semuanya harus diberikan pemerintah secara gratis.

Para penasihat hukum atau advokat kondang tak boleh hanya melayani klien berduit. Mereka juga wajib memberikan bantuan hukum cuma-cuma alias gratis kepada klien tak mampu. Ketentuan ini sebenarnya sudah diatur dalam pasal 22 UU No 18 Tahun 2003 tentang Advokat. Aturan teknis terkait UU itu agar bisa direalisasikan, segera dikeluarkan.
