Se il film olandese ha trovato spazio nei palinsesti italiani, ci sono film che subiscono tutt'ora censura. Uno di questi è "Mare Nostrum" di Stefano Mencherini, giornalista indipendente e regista RAI. “Mare Nostrum” è un film crudo che documenta le violenze, le sevizie e gli abusi subiti dai migranti reclusi nel “Centro di Permanenza Temporanea Regina Pacis di Lecce”. La raccolta firme affinché la Rai trasmetta il film prosegue tutt'ora.
