Poliittisiin motiiveihin perustuva väkivalta lehtien tuotantoketjun eri osia vastaan on jatkunut Nepalissa kesän jälkeen. Hiljattain hyökkäys Nepalin suurimman lehtitalon tiloihin keskeytti usean päivän ajaksi nepalinkielisen sanomalehden Kantipurin sekä The Kathmandu Postin valmistuksen.

Seven NGOs have been approved by the Ministry for Information & Broadcasting to set up community radio stations in India. This follows the MinistryÂ’s year old decision to broadbase its policy to include non-governmental organizations apart from educational institutes and agricultural groups.

Kansainvälinen Toimittajat ilman rajoja -järjestö tuomitsee Kiinan viranomaisten päätökset ulkomaisten toimittajien rekisteröinnistä. Päätöstä pidetään merkkinä Olympiakisojen käyttämisestä propagandatarkoituksiin. Samoin päätös ilmaisee Kiinan pyrkimystä estää ulkomaisten uutistoimistojen laajentaa toimintaansa Kiinassa.

"Ci dissociamo dalle celebrazioni ufficiali del 4 novembre" - scrive un comunicato dell'associazione Peacelink invitando i cittadini ad esporre dai balconi le bandiere arcobaleno e a partecipare domenica 4 novembre ad un'iniziativa pubblica a Verona promossa dal Movimento Nonviolento. "La festa fu una ricorrenza istituita dal fascismo per trasformare le vittime della prima guerra mondiale in eroi coraggiosi che si immolavano per la Patria. Una guerra che costò all'Italia 650 mila morti e un milione di mutilati e feriti, molti di più di quanti erano gli abitanti di Trento e Trieste, i territori ottenuti con la vittoria della guerra che erano gia stati concessi dall'Austria all'Italia in cambio della non belligeranza". Peacelink ribadisce che "l'unico vero modo per celebrare il ricordo di una guerra è quello di impegnarsi con la nonviolenza affinchè non ci siano più guerre".
