Once again THE UNDP has ranked Pakistan 135th out of 177 countries in It’s Human Development Report. And a New Social Watch Report, ranking poverty in terms of human capabilities, has placed Pakistan among the 10 most backward countries in the world. The report says there has not been much success in social development. It could be because the term has never been consciously defined. We all know that there are two entirely different, parallel Indias. There is a disturbing divergence between the two. One India is progressing towards becoming a developed nation while the second India, which is primarily rural, is getting bypassed in this process. To see the entire nation empowered we need to create healthy villages where even the last person can access basic amenities.More...
