20.11.2006 El FMLN intentará renegociar el Tratado de Libre Comercio entre Centroamérica y República Dominicana con Estados Unidos (CAFTA, por sus siglas en inglés) con el congreso del país norteamericano, ahora controlado por el Partido Demócrata.
