CEJIL considera que si bien Guatemala ha dado pasos significativos en su política de derechos humanos, la aceptación de responsabilidad por parte del Estado en los hechos denunciados en este caso debe ir acompañada de acciones concretas. CEJIL espera que el Estado de Guatemala inicie las gestiones necesarias para asegurar que los familiares de la víctima conozcan la verdad de lo ocurrido y se le entreguen los restos de Marco Antonio.

Dopo le denunce del Parlamento europeo sulla scarsa tutela dei minori, la Romania sta per varare una legge sulla protezione dei bambini che renderà più difficili le adozioni internazionali. L'associazione "Amici dei bambini" (Aibi) critica la proposta di legge ed ha inviato un appello al presidente della Commissione europea Romano Prodi affinchè la nuova normativa garantisca ai bambini abbandonati di trovare una famiglia all'estero.

''Sem espaço para a criação individualizada da arte não há mídia democrática''. Abrindo a sessão plenária Identidade e Diversidade Cultural, na 4ª Cúpula Mundial de Mídia para Crianças e Adolescentes, a escritora Ana Maria Machado fez uma forte crítica à censura que a mídia produz ao não se pluralizar e acaba obrigando o público a assistir um único padrão.

Amid all the gloom about war, global warming, and the spread of HIV/AIDS comes a glimmer of hope in the news from two key UN agencies that the number of measles deaths declined by 30 percent worldwide between 1999 and 2002. The World Health Organisation and the UN Children Fund (UNICEF) also reported that Africa, which suffers the highest rate of measles infection in the world, cut deaths by 35 percent over the same three-year period.

En la actualidad hay más de 300.000 niños y niñas soldado en el mundo. A través de esta iniciativa, Amnistía Internacional pide al Gobierno español, en su calidad de miembro no permanente del Consejo de Seguridad de la ONU, que promueva la adopción de medidas sancionadoras contra cualquier parte involucrada en un conflicto que reclute menores soldado .

A través d'aquesta iniciativa, Amnistia Internacional demana al Govern espanyol, en la seva qualitat de membre no permanent del Consell de Seguretat de l'ONU, que promogui l'adopció de mesures sancionadores contra qualsevol part involucrada en un conflicte que recluti menors soldat .

Gwalior Children's Hospital Charity, working with poor, disabled, destitute and vulnerable children, women and older people in one of India's most deprived regions, urgently needs support to establish a hospice for children with HIV. "With each child tested positive, our problem grows that much more urgent," says Dr B.K. Sharma, a NHS doctor in the UK who founded and directs the charity. "Please donate to sponsor treatment for these children and help us establish the hospice."

Suomen World Visionin HEI, OPETA MULLE TÄÄ! -kampanjan tavoite on tiedottaa lapsen oikeudesta peruskoulutukseen ja oikeudesta tuoda esiin oma mielipiteensä. Kampanjassa suomalaiset, intialaiset ja ugandalaiset lapset saavat mahdollisuuden kertoa, mitä he oikeasti haluaisivat oppia. Ensimmäisessä vaiheessa lapsen oikeuksia käsitellään 30:ssä pääkaupunkiseudun, Lahden ja Turun ala-asteen koulussa.

Durante su estancia, los pequeños reciben asistencia médica y alimentación en condiciones, mejoran su formación gracias al intercambio cultural y se convierten en embajadores de su pueblo y de la causa saharaui.

BC's Liberals have introduced legislation that bluntly challenges a four-month-old court ruling. In January, BC Supreme Court quashed a government-appointed arbitrator's plan to strip teachers' contracts of provisions guaranteeing class-size limits and standards for students with special needs. But Bill 19, tabled Tuesday, pushes the plan forward anyway, "despite any decision of a court to the contrary."

L'ètnia gitana és una de les minories més pobres de Bòsnia i Hercegovina i està exposada al rebuig i racisme de la societat. Segons estudis de l'Unicef i de Save the Children, només dos de cada deu nens d'aquesta ètnia van a l'escola. Des de fa 5 anys, l'Unicef dóna suport a programes educatius d'ONG locals per afavorir la integració a la seva comunitat de nenes i nens gitanos de l'ex Iugoslàvia.
