On June 28, the cultural event Days of European Heritage in Bosnia and Herzegovina was opened. The whole festival will end on July 22. The festival is a project of the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports, and was officially opened by Minister Gavrilo Grahovac. Grahovac also opened the first event of the whole festival, the exhibition of works by elementary and secondary school students on two subjects: Youth and Heritage and Old Bridges in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam are waging a campaign in eastern Sri Lanka to abduct former child soldiers for their forces, Human Rights Watch has said. Over the last three weeks, the armed opposition group has intensified efforts to re-recruit child combatants released by Colonel Karuna, a renegade rebel commander defeated by its forces in April.

Ekoloska udruga Zelena akcija objavila je rezultate nagradnog natječaja "Postani likovni majstor Dunava". Na natječaju na temu rijeka Dunav, učestvovali su učenici osnovnih kola iz Republike Hrvatske. Dodjela nagrada predvidjena je za 03.07.2004 godine, u sklopu proslave Dana Dunava, u Zlatnoj Gredi kod Osijeka.

Friends of the Earth, the European Environmental Bureau and Greenpeace have criticised the European Union for failing to set measurable targets for protecting the environment and human - particularly child - health. A recent report in the Lancet has revealed that one in three child deaths in Europe is due to environmental factors.

We used the opportunity presented by the fourth Conference on Child Protection held on June 15-16, 2004 in Teslic, to talk to Jovanka Vukovic, Coordinator of the Analytical and Research Office of the RS Child Protection Fund. The conference was organized by the Youth Centre Lighthouse from Prijedor, under the patronage of UNICEF.

In mid-December 2003, the Independent Bureau for Humanitarian Issues (IBHI B&H) started the Improved Mechanisms of Child Protection Project. The Project is financed by UNICEF B&H, and is implemented in cooperation with the competent entity Ministries in charge of child protection.

Sredinom decembra 2003. godine Nezavisni biro za humanitarna pitanja (IBHI BiH) je pokrenuo projekat pod nazivom ''Unaprijeđani mehanizmi dječije zatite''. Projekat finansira UNICEF BiH, a ostvaruje se u saradnji sa oba entitetska ministarstva nadlena za pitanje dječije zatite. Potpuna realizacija je planirana do 15. januara 2005. godine.
