31.10.2005 Multinational and Indian seed companies are paying Indian farmers who are producing their cotton seed almost 40%- too little to enable them to hire adults for the local minimum wage of Rs.52 (€1,-) instead of children. The companies are multinationals like Bayer, Monsanto and Syngenta but also Indian companies like Nuziveedu Seeds, Raasi Seeds and Ankur Seeds.

20.10.2005 Alle soglie del rigido inverno che conoscono le popolazioni del Kashmir, Terre des hommes sta mettendo a punto un progetto di intervento in soccorso dei terremotati della durata di un anno e per l'ammontare complessivo di un milione di euro circa. Nella giornata del 17 ottobre scorso anche l'esperta di accompagnamento psicosociale di Terre des hommes ha raggiunto la missione esplorativa dell'organizzazione sul terreno da oltre una settimana. La situazione umanitaria si fa sempre più allarmante: la cifra stimata dalla Protezione civile locale stabilisce che il numero delle vittime accertate del terremoto in Pakistan è salito a 47.700 persone - di cui almeno la metà bambini - mentre i feriti sarebbero ormai oltre 67 mila.
