Kansalaisjärjestöjen vientiluottokampanja on ilmaissut tyrmistyksensä YLEn Radiouutisten välittämästä uutisesta, jonka mukaan kehitysyhteystöministeri Paula Lehtomäki vähättelee Costa Rican korruptioskandaalia. Vientiluottokampanja painottaa, ettei kehitysyhteistyövaroilla korruptointi ole hyväksyttävää. Ministerin tulisi vakavasti harkita eroamista tehtävistään, kampanjan tiedotteessa todetaan.

Parliamentarians from 90 countries called on the United Nations last week to classify the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) goals as the ninth Millennium Development Goal (MDG). In a statement issued at the end of a meeting, the parliamentarians said the MDG goals will remain an empty promise if the ICPD goals are not realized because reproductive rights and health are at the heart of the development agenda.

Eurooppalaisten kehitysyhteistyöjärjestöjen yhteenliittymä CONCORD vaatii EU:ta ottamaan gender-ajattelun yhä järjestelmällisemmin osaksi kehityspolitiikkaa. Yksi CONCORDin päämääristä on saada lisää varoja EU:n erilliselle Women in Development -rahoituslinjalle.
