30.03.2005 Britanski Odsjek za teske prevare pokrenuo je istragu protiv londonske kompanije EFT zbog sumnje da je podmitila zvanicnike Republike Srpske i Elektroprivrede (ERS) te zemlje, kako bi joj bio omogucen angazman u poslovanjima sa crnogorskom Elektroprivredom. Protiv kompanije EFT vodi se istraga i zbog sumnje da je pronjeverila 11 miliona USD pomoci koje je Agencija americke Vlade za pomoc /USAID/ bila namijenila elektroenergetskom sistemu u Crnoj Gori.

16.03.2005 Asiantuntijaselvityksen mukaan hyökyaallon taloudelliset menetykset nousevat Intiassa noin 1,2 miljardiin dollariin. Aineellisten vahinkojen lisäksi perinteisten elinkeinojen tuhoutuminen aiheutti rannikkoseuduilla mittavat taloudelliset tappiot. Jälleenrakentamisen kustannukset nousevat luonnonkatastrofin aiheuttamia tappioita suuremmiksi, sillä esimerkiksi tuhoalueiden raivaaminen on mittava urakka.
