31.07.2007 Entinen "sadan dollarin tietokone"-hanke eli nykyinen OLPC:n (One Laptop Per Child) XO-tietokone on siirtymässä tuotantovaiheeseen. Tällä hetkellä koneen hinta on 175 dollaria ja ensimmäisten käyttäjien pitäisi saada kone käyttöön jo lokakuussa. Muun muassa YK:n kehitysohjelman siunauksen saanut XO on nyt saanut tuekseen myös tietokonejätti Intelin. Yhteistyön arvellaan hyödyntävän mahdollisuuksia hankkeen laajenemiselle.

31.07.2007 UNESCO handed over 82 pieces of equipment, granted under a US$2.5 million project, funded by Italy, to create a new TV studio aimed at developing educational broadcasting in Afghanistan. The project started in 2003, and helped the Ministry of Education to achieve its goal of providing education to Afghans in all parts of the country.
