Accurate information about family planning and reproductive health issues is difficult to come by in Afghanistan--for journalists as well as the general public. A 5-day workshop for radio, TV, and print journalists in Kabul earlier this month aimed to begin to change that.

The first International Forum of Environmental Journalists ended yesterday in Pozega. The three day forum was organized by the Croatian Environmental Press Centre, under the patronage of Ministry of Environmental Protection, Construction and Spatial Planning, discussed the subject of “Importance of Environmental Journalism in Environmental protection and prevention of devastation”.

Seven years ago, these rural newsletters started off as communication tools for limited use by women self-help groups. Their purpose was to initiate a dialogue between the women, encourage them to share information and also, give them an opportunity to voice their opinion. Today, these newsletters are an effective means for communicating the concerns of the entire village.

Nakon konferencije 'EEII 2005 tour', održan kroz savez udruga Klubtura, inicirao je također mrežu slobodnih Internet radija Hrvatske.

According to this research, television still remains the main source of information for citizens of Kosova (84%), with a great difference against radio (8%) and print media (6%). The most preferred media in Kosova are TV21, Radio Dukagjini and Koha ditore, whereas the most trusted media still remain RTK, Radio Kosova and Koha ditore.

France-based media organisation Reporters Without Borders has condemned the Nepalese government for blocking access to the website of Gorkha News on 9 September. Everest World Limited, which edits the site, said it has been censored because of “its stand against curbs on the Nepalese press."

Medici Senza Frontiere (Msf) ha lanciato un nuovo appello per una rapida mobilitazione degli operatori umanitari in Niger: sono urgenti distribuzioni di cibo mirate nelle aree colpite da malnutrizione grave. Accertamenti sulla situazione nutrizionale nella regione di Zinder rivelano infatti un peggioramento della situazione, e nulla fa pensare che le condizioni allarmanti miglioreranno nei prossimi mesi. Nei giorni scorsi Medici Senza Frontiere aveva denunciato la complice disattenzione dei Tg italiani che nell'estate hanno dedicato alla crisi appena lo 0,1% delle notizie (cioè 19 minuti).
