05.12.2006 The Youth Centre Livno , with the assistance of volunteers from secondary schools in Livno, organizes the „5 to 12 for 5+“ humanitarian action for most vulnerable families with five or more children. The action will start on December 5, the International Volunteering Day, and will end with a charity concert at the end of December 2006.

04.12.2006 Author of the Indian microfinance success story Vikram Akula, founder of SKS Microfinance Pvt Ltd, believes that even though microfinance is not an answer to the agriculture crisis in Vidarbha, it can supplement incomes for farm families. After 150 branches all over the country, he moved into Vidarbha recently. His three branches have 1,000 borrowers in 21 villages.

Mohmmad Yunus of Grameen Bank
04.12.2006 Nobel Prize Laureate and Managing Director of Grameen Bank, Professor Muhammad Yunus, announced at the ITU TELECOM WORLD 2006 opening ceremony at Hong Kong that Grameen will team up the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and other partners, including Cisco Systems, QUALCOMM and a newly formed consortium, Enclusion, to launch a virtual, global 'ICT Empowerment Network' as part of their collaboration through the Connect the World initiative.
