The Asia-Pacific Development Information Programme of the UNDP is planning a series of e-awareness seminars for Asian parliamentarians to assist various countries to succeed in their ICT for development initiatives. APDIP is organising the seminars jointly with the Global Knowledge Partnership and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.

The Women's Internet Café of the Zimbabwe Women's Resource Centre and Network is a centre where women from technology-poor communities are trained to use e-mail and Internet. For a reasonable fee, women can surf the Web, and check and send e-mails. The centre also offers IT training courses, workshops and seminars for women.

The ICT policy programme of our South African partner Bridges.org has been awarded with a very honourable mention at this year's APC Africa Hafkin Communications Prize. Bridges.org promotes access to ICT by researching, testing, and promoting best practices for sustainable technology use.
