12.03.2003 Uganda is preparing for the World Summit on Information Society (WSIS) in December, consulting with the civil society and others for its inputs. It has created a National WSIS Taskforce that will continue through with preparations for the second WSIS summit in 2005.

02.03.2003 The civil society claimed an important victory at the conclusion of the second meeting of the WSIS preparatory committee (Prepcom2) in Geneva, with the creation of the Civil Society Bureau. NGOs will now participate in the WSIS process on equal footing with governments and business.
