In Italia si è passati dai 346 minori stranieri adottati del 2000 ai 2.840 del 2005, l'incremento più elevato tra i 6 Paesi esaminati nello studio. Terre des Hommes chiede alla Commissione Europea di salvaguardare i diritti del bambino adottato e dei genitori adottivi incoraggiando tutti gli stati membri dell'UE a partecipare a un "Codice di buone pratiche".

E' l'appello lanciato nei giorni scorsi dall'Unicef presentando il 'Humanitarian Action Report' - il rapporto annuale sui paesi in emergenza. "Come effetto della crisi in Kenya, 300mila persone sono state costrette ad abbandonare le loro case e rifugiarsi in campi di accoglienza: 150mila sono bambini, di cui 80mila hanno meno di 5 anni. In Ciad la situazione è meno chiara, ma si stima che 30mila delle 52mila persone fuggite dal paese siano a rischio e richiedano immediata assistenza" - ha dichiarato Hilde Johnson, Vice-direttore dell'Unicef ricordando le recenti crisi. Ieri l'Unicef ha lanciato un ulteriore appello: per salvare la vita di 90mila bambini somali urgono nelle prossime due settimane 6 milioni di dollari.
