31.01.2006 Mentre in Italia le retribuzioni sono cresciute nel 2005 del 3,1% rispetto all'anno precedente, le Forze dell'ordine hanno registrato un aumento delle retribuzioni dell'8,9% e i militari della Difesa hanno segnato un aumento dei salari del 12%: lo rivelano i dati diffusi oggi dall'Istat. A dicembre l'indice delle retribuzioni contrattuali orarie registra una crescita dello 0,1% rispetto al precedente mese di novembre. Complessivamente, nel 2005 l'indice delle retribuzioni segna un progresso del 3,1%, rispetto allo stesso periodo del 2004, ed è il dato più alto dal 1997. Nel 2005 l'inflazione è invece cresciuta dell'1,9%. Per quanto riguarda gli scioperi - specifica l'Istat - nel periodo gennaio-ottobre 2005 il numero di ore non lavorate per conflitti (originati dal rapporto di lavoro) è stato di 5,5 milioni (il 37,3% in più rispetto al corrispondente periodo del 2004). Di queste, il 60,2% (pari a 3,3 milioni di ore) è da imputare a conflitti per il rinnovo del contratto di lavoro.

25.01.2006 As the first leg of this year's World Social Forum drew to a close in West Africa Monday, participants noted the decidedly "Afrocentric" focus of the event. Despite minor administrative glitches, participants discussed issues ranging from women's rights to the conflict in the Sudan, and shuttled between more than 800 events and activities.
