Researchers from the University of Cape Town in South Africa has pointed out that, Tuberculosis is still a leading cause of death in many countries and diagnostic methods are similar to those used 100 years ago. Though research in technological advances has provided new diagnosis and treatment, but the need is to make them available to populations most at risk.

The head of the World Health Organisation (WHO) has introduced a report on ‘World Health Report 2007 entitled A Safer Future’ and asked for corporation from the national governments to provide global health security. She stressed on collective responsibility and international cooperation with open sharing of knowledge, technologies to guarantee global public-health security in the future.

Unit Transfusi Darah Cabang (UTDC) PMI Kabupaten Ponorogo kemarin memusnahkan lima kantong darah yang terinfeksi virus HIV/AIDS. Hal ini diketahui setelah UTDC itu melakukan screening terhadap 600 kantong donor darah dari periode Juni-Juli 2007.

ActionAid report on the explosion at an Indian army ammunitions base in South Kashmir, reflects on the impact of blast on the health of the people. It is found that the blaze left three out of four of the displaced ones suffering from sleep disorders. 64 per cent have respiratory tract infections induced by toxic smoke.

According to researchers at Tel Aviv University, the people who crave for computers first thing in the morning and obsessively check emails in the middle of the night are suffering from "Internet addiction disorder". They said that Internet addiction can be better diagnosed if treated like any other extreme and menacing addiction, such as kleptomania and pathological gambling.
