24.08.2007 Researchers from the University of Cape Town in South Africa has pointed out that, Tuberculosis is still a leading cause of death in many countries and diagnostic methods are similar to those used 100 years ago. Though research in technological advances has provided new diagnosis and treatment, but the need is to make them available to populations most at risk.

22.08.2007 ActionAid report on the explosion at an Indian army ammunitions base in South Kashmir, reflects on the impact of blast on the health of the people. It is found that the blaze left three out of four of the displaced ones suffering from sleep disorders. 64 per cent have respiratory tract infections induced by toxic smoke.
