Più di 11mila vittime di tratta e di grave sfruttamento avviate ai programmi di protezione, assistenza e integrazione sociale che fanno parte delle oltre 44mila persone accompagnate ai servizi sanitari dal Coordinamento nazionale comunità di accoglienza (Cnca) dal marzo 2000 al maggio 2006. Sono le cifre presentate oggi a Roma dal Cnca e dall’associazione “On the Road" che chiedono nuove politiche per vincere la tratta delle persone. "Bisogna ripensare le politiche per renderle più efficaci nel contrastare la tratta e nell’aiutare le vittime" - affermano i promotori che avanzano numerose proposte tra cui l'istituzione di un Tavolo nazionale sulla tratta, l'abrogazione di alcune disposizioni della legge Bossi-Fini, ma anche il rilancio del Numero verde sulla tratta, “non attivo per ben sei mesi”.

Diskriminacija žena najdominantnija je u srpskim štampanim medijima, pokazalo je istraživanje stereotipa, načina i strategija diskriminacije žena u štampanim medijima jugoistočne Evrope, koje je sproveo sarajevski Media centar. Tokom istraživanja, analizirane su dnevne novine u Bosni i Hercegovini, Hrvatskoj, Makedoniji, Bugarskoj, Albaniji i Srbiji.

Amnesty International on tyytyväinen Viron viranomaisten pyrkimykseen käsitellä venäjänkielisen vähemmistön kohtaamaa syrjintää. Pyrkimyksistä huolimatta venäjänkielisen vähemmistön asema on huono. Venäjänkielisiä on noin kolmasosa maan väestöstä. Heillä on huonot mahdollisuudet päästä työelämään ja vain rajalliset vähemmistöoikeudet.
