20.01.2007 L’idea del World Social Forum (WSF), che raccoglie non solo idealmente circa 100mila sognatori è nata in contrapposizione all’idea del World Economic Forum (WEF) che raccoglie, concretamente, circa 2.000 potenti della terra ogni anno a Davos – Svizzera. I due eventi avvengono contemporaneamente con caratteristiche diverse; talvolta opposte. Ho la fortuna di collaborare per un piccolo network – OneWorld – che oltre ad aver dato il nome al WSF da sempre cerca di abitare e raccontare entrambi gli eventi. A nostro avviso, ambivalenti. Non solo. In passato ha tentato il dialogo tra i due mondi con una videoconferenza tra Porto Alegre e Davos ma ha fallito. Non tanto per assenza di linea telefonica, banda larga o altra diavoleria ma per mancanza di volontà. Il Sud o, meglio, coloro che pretendevano di rappresentare i Sud si rifiutarono di parlare con il Nord. Non c’è stata quindi l’occasione per le leader dei movimenti come Vandana Shiva o Susan Gorge d’ incontrarsi on line con i guru dell’economia come Gorge Soros o Bill Gates.

19.01.2007 Mosambikin parlamentti hyväksyi joulun alla vuoden 2007 talousarvion ja taloudellisen ja sosiaalisen suunnitelman. Sen tavoitteina ovat köyhyyden vähentäminen vahvan ja kattavan talouskasvun ja alhaisen inflaation avulla.
Suurin osa menoista tullaan käyttämään köyhyydenvähentämisohjelma PARPA:n tärkeimmillä sektoreilla.
