27.10.2007 A citizen held electronic health card (eCard) will enable people to access online electronic prescriptions in Bulgaria. The pilot project will be tested by 1,000 patients who will use their eCard at both their GP and pharmacy.

18.08.2005 As part of The Great Volga River Route project, an International Workshop on Sustainable Development and World Heritage took place on 28-31 July 2005 in Bucharest, Romania.The aim is to link young people through the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and engage them in the preservation and promotion of World Heritage and Biosphere sites.

17.03.2004 UNESCO is setting up HIV/AIDS information centres for youth in Mozambique, Tanzania and Bulgaria. This is part of a project to implement preventive HIV/AIDS activities by improving access to information and raising awareness among youth about the potential risks and the ways for a more efficient prevention.

04.08.2003 A new Website has been launched to save the unique nature of the Kresna Gorge in Bulgaria by diverting the proposed Struma Motorway. The Bulgarian government plans to build the motorway, as part of a trans-European corridor connecting Sofia and Athens, directly through the valuable natural riches of Kresna Gorge and the town of Kresna.

29.06.2003 Eleven countries from Southern Europe are currently participating in a project on ICTs for the development of education and the construction of a knowledge society. The project, which got underway earlier this year, includes activities like seminars and expert meetings on topics such as ICT application in distance education, IT training and multimedia courses.

04.06.2003 BlueLink Information Network of Bulgaria has launched a South Eastern Europe regional environmental content-sharing )Website in partnership with StrawberryNet of Romania. The English-language initiative aims to strengthen the environmental information exchange in the South Eastern Europe region through online content sharing and joint information flow.

03.03.2003 www.stabilitypactwatch.info, which was launched recently, focuses on the monitoring of the Stability Pact Process in the Balkans. The Pact seeks to encourage stability through support for regional projects, which are going to be implemented through a South Eastern European Regional Table.

16.01.2003 To encourage online sharing and cooperation between environment NGOs, the BlueLink Information Network has started a series of roving training workshops in Bulgarian towns.
