08.02.2007 Following the first-ever gathering of the Internet Governance Forum (IGF), held in Athens from 30 October to 2 November 2006, a special stock-taking session will take place next Tuesday, 13 February, at Geneva’s Palais des Nations where the participants will assess the achievements of the inaugural meeting and pave the way forward.

20.09.2005 The final preparatory meeting for the forthcoming Tunis Phase of the World Summit on the Information Society opens today at the Palais de Nations in Geneva with UNESCO observers participating throughout the two week event.

23.10.2003 The World Summit on the Information Society will be held in two phases. The first phase will take place in Geneva from 10 to 12 December 2003, while the second phase will be in Tunis, from 16 to 18 November 2005.

19.06.2003 An intergovernmental agency for French-speaking countries has started a website for the World Summit on the Information Society, to be held at Geneva and Tunis. Besides providing information on the preparation for the summit, the website has links to studies done by the agency on the information society.

15.06.2003 The European Union (EU) has outlined its objectives for the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) process to be held at Geneva later this year. This document also identifies the main position of the EU vis-à-vis important issues to be discussed at the summit.
