27.02.2004 Lakiesitys tietokoneohjelmistojen patentoitavuudesta on saanut yritykset ja järjestöt lobbaamaan europarlamentaarikkoja ennätyskiivaasti. Aiheen teknisyys puolestaan on estänyt parlamentaarikkoja näkemästä metsää puilta. Toiseen käsittelyyn syksyllä päätyvän direktiivin vaiheista kertoi GNU/Linux Summit -tapahtumassa Piia-Noora Kauppi.

27.02.2004 Communication Ministers from the Region (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, and Serbia and Montenegro) today in Budapest have signed the Joint Statement of the Ministers of the SEE countries to build an Inclusive Information Society. The Statement was signed in the context of the European Ministerial Conference on Information Society entitled: “New opportunities for growth in an enlarged Europe.” The aim of the Statement is to reaffirm strong and long-term commitment to develop an inclusive Information Society in SEE countries, and it expresses the will to be associated as closely as possible to the eEurope processes, taking into account the specific situations of the region’s countries.

27.02.2004 Ministri komunikacija zemalja regije (Albanije, Bosne i Hercegovine, Hrvatske, Makedonije, i Srbije i Crne Gore) potpisali su danas u Budimpešti zajedničku ministarsku izjavu zemalja Jugoistočne Evrope za izgradnju sveobuhvatnog informacionog društva. Izjava je potpisana u kontekstu Evropske ministarske konferencije o informacionom društvu, pod nazivom: “Nove mogućnosti za razvoj u proširenoj Evropi.”

20.02.2004 Con motivo de la inauguración de un nuevo taller de reparación de ordenadores en Valencia, la ONG Telecomunicaciones Solidarias celebrará el 28 de febrero la 3ª Fiesta de reciclaje de aparatos. Bajo la tutela de técnicos voluntarios, los participantes revisarán y repararán los ordenadores donados por empresas y particulares, que se destinarán a proyectos de cooperación en Cuba. 20.02.2004 Peter Armstrong, attuale direttore del network Oneworld, è stato insignito oggi dalla British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) del premio "Interactive Awards" per il suo contributo alla comunicazione digitale. Con la moglie Anuradha Vittachi, Armstrong è stato il creatore della rete OneWorld di cui Unimondo è il nodo italiano.
