India currently produces 150,000 tons of e-waste a year but has been slow to regulate disposal with no proper guidelines and law. Delhi itself has 10,000 people who search for gold, copper, palladium, or anything else in the e-waste to reap profit from it even though it is a hazardous task.

Security agencies in India have shown concern over the threat to major installations in the country, including Rashtrapati Bhavan, air force airfields, army installations and nuclear research centres because of the Wikimapia site which combines high resolution satellite and mapping imagery created by Google Maps.

Pakistan's Mast FM103 radio station has been asked to stop
broadcasting BBC news bulletins which it had started on June 2007 after obtaining permission from the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulation Authority (PEMRA). Reporters Without Borders has urged the Sindh High Court to defend the freedom of the radio station.

The Finance Ministry of India is planning to introduce Iris-based biometric PANs for new applicants which will provide accurate, secured access to information. The Biometric PAN cards will enhance security features like fingerprint or retinal scans to income tax payers in the country.

The Indian President, A.P.J. Abdul Kalam has proposed a judicial e-governance web to connect all district courts to the apex court. The Supreme Court will undertake the project under the National e-Governance Plan (NeGEP), linking 15,000 courts.
