The newly launched Local Projects Database (LPD) is a web-based tool for managing information on development assistance activities of development partners. Development Gateway Foundation and World Resources Institute have initiated LPD.
This application allows organisations enter data on any specific development activity or project. One of the main goals of LPD is also to facilitate exchange of information among agencies working in the emergency situations.
Colombia, Mongolia, Morocco, Poland, and Romania Country Gateways are already testing the tool. The java-based open source application is designed to suite the locale specific needs of the developing nations.
