World conference on ICT for capacity building

To explore the roles of information and communication technology (ICT) for achieving the UN Millennium Development Goals and for building knowledge societies, the UNESCO and the Club of Rome are co-organizing a three-day "World Conference on Harnessing the Potential of ICT for Capacity Building”.

The Conference, to be held from 11 to 13 May at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, France, is one of UNESCO’s preparatory meetings for the upcoming World Summit on the Information Society. While the meeting will be focusing on new delivery methods of formal learning, it will try to explore new paths of reaching the unreached and marginalized groups.

The Global Development Learning Network (GDLN) of the World Bank Institute will facilitate a unique opportunity to connect experts to share experiences and to dialogue during this meeting.
