C-DOT's latest partnership with the French telecom giant Alcatel is aiming towards reaping the seeds of innovation to revolutionise India's rural telephony through setting up a state-of-the-art telecom R&D centre.
Alcatel and C-DOT will collaborate to develop indigenous capacity to design and manufacture WiMAX, the latest broadband wireless technology.
Technologists around the world see Wi-MAX as the panacea for data and voice connectivity problem at the last mile. Also, the new development seems to be able to fetch financial support for C-DOT.
