More than 250 scribes, mainly radio journlists, went on to streets to protest against the royal crackdown of a community radio programme production centre.
Earlier the Federation of Nepalese Journalists issued a letter of protest against the curb by the Government, leading to the closure of the 'communication corner' that was being used by many community radio stations to produce radio programmes. In this rally on Sunday, journalists marched at Nayabaneswhor in Kathmandu, carrying placards with slogans like "stop intervening free press", "do not harrass journalists". The protesters demanded immediate withdrwal of ban against the radio production facility. |
