The Namibian Government has released the ICT Policy for Education and Training Sector recently.
The ICT Policy describes Governments strategy of building an ICT-enabled teaching and learning programmes. It seeks to address the challenge of developing human capacity in computing through connecting schools. According to an estimate, approximately 78 000 computers are needed to computersed the schools.
Prime Minister Nahas Angula encouraged both the teachers and students to make the ICT policy a into a reality to gear up Namibias effort of in meeting the economic blueprint Vision 2003.
The 26-page ICT Policy for Education will now be used by educationalists to incorporate it into what the Prime Minister called a teaching programme, while at the same time seek resources for its sustainability.
