Laos National Radio recently hosted a workshop familiarise radio technicians with designing digital radio studio production system in Vientiane, capital of Laos, from 2 to 13 May 2005.
Participants from Bhutan, Kiribati, Laos, Mongolia, Maldives, Nepal and Vietnam joined the ten-day workshop covered several technology topics that are used in new digital radio studio systems. These topics included digital basics (such as sampling, compression, resolution, synchronizing), networking principles, media asset management and installation practices.
Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) organised the workshop, with financial support from UNESCO under the International Programme for the Development of Communication (IPDC).
