The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation has developed DEV INFO INDIA, a database for the collection, compilation and transmission of data on selected social indicators.
Developed in collaboration with UNICEF, DEV INFO INDIA aims to provide a storehouse of information on
development data of India. It will be highly useful in efficient implementation of the developmental programme. The Ministry has already initiated action to develop a system of data collection, from village level onwards on a few selected indicators to get to the bottom of information on local development.
The selected indicators, based on the Millennium Development Goals, reflects 36 areas of interventions relevenat for developing countries like India and others.
